COMMUNITY INITIATIVES & SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY

1. Construction of Farm Road – Vengoor, Ernakulam

In collaboration with the local Gram Panchayat and community members, PJB Engineers undertook the construction of a farm road at Kanichattupaddam in Vengoor, Ernakulam District, Kerala. The 4.5-meter-wide road extends over 300 meters along paddy fields and includes dry rubble masonry, PCC sidewalls, and RCC culverts at water channel crossings. The project was completed within one month and was fully funded under PJB’s community development initiative.

2. Construction of Road – Anneshwara Village, Bangalore Rural

In 2021, PJB Engineers funded and executed a 1.2 km road project in Anneshwara Gram Panchayat, Devanahalli, with the support of local authorities and community members. The project included 600 meters of cement concrete (CC) road, while the remaining stretch was improved from an unpaved surface. This development has significantly enhanced accessibility for residents, connecting them efficiently to the main road network.

3. COV-AID Initiative – Kempegowda International Airport, Bengaluru

PJB Engineers contributed to the COV-AID @ BLR initiative launched by Kempegowda International Airport Foundation (KIAF) in May 2021, alongside partners such as Fairfax Financial Holdings, Bangalore International Airport Limited (BIAL), and Quess Corp Limited. The project involved setting up a temporary 150-bed oxygen facility equipped with 95 units of 10 LPM concentrators and 55 units of 5 LPM concentrators, along with essential medical infrastructure such as a pharmacy, pathology unit, nursing stations, rest areas, dining facilities, and 24×7 ambulance support. In addition to financial assistance, PJB played a vital role in executing the facility by leveraging its on-ground project team at the airport.

4. Construction of Houses – Nedumbassery, Ernakulam

Following the devastating floods in Kerala in August 2018, PJB Engineers partnered with the Nedumbassery Gram Panchayat to support affected families. The company funded and constructed two houses near Cochin International Airport for families who had lost their homes. Built at an approximate cost of ₹38 lakhs, the houses were completed and handed over to beneficiaries in 2020, reflecting PJB’s commitment to community rehabilitation.

5. Vaccination Initiative – Christian Medical College, Vellore

In August 2021, during the second wave of COVID-19, PJB Engineers partnered with Christian Medical College (CMC), Vellore, in their vaccination drive. As part of this initiative, mobile vaccination vans were deployed to reach rural communities. This effort enabled the CMC outreach team to vaccinate over 150 individuals per day in remote villages, aligning with PJB’s vision of promoting equal access to quality healthcare.
